currently monitoring this FL threat of torns....

Minutes before the cell moved over land there was no warning...than not even 5 minutes....a warning was put out on the cell moving over Panama City, FL.....

all ingredients create a very unstable atmosphere and perfect conditions for random spawning tornadoes as have been experienced in the past during the months that tornadoes shouldn't occur usually during the months of December/January.....but unfortunately Florida being the sunstate and the roaring low pressure system making its way across the south......self explanatory
CAPE, Helicity are scorching values over areas at Panama City to Tallahasee at the moment...

Halloween Season Snowstorm!!!!!

Near the University of Northern Colorado campus were sounds of people getting pelted by fresh soft wet powder packing snowballs being chucked at each other and the sounds reverberating off the low stratus snow band was the beginning.....the snowflakes were ginormous falling so peacefully at the start of the warm/cold transition snow....this was truly impressive.....when my roommate (John Glaser) and I went scrambling through the snow I told him to do a pose of a snowball and yea right in the gut after I took the pic.....good times! well all have fun out there should be a good system bringing that delicious snow!

California Dreamin to be Pounded

Cianca shared with me the other night to look at 180 hrs out GFS.........
Woah.....great stuff.......looking forward to a nice big system to bring lots of moisture......
parts of California shouldn't be worrying about fires no more....instead lots of precip both rain & snow!
there will always be complaints.....

many have seen these models and are monitoring for sure this next big system for later in the week to bring a better setup for cold core action severe weather or severe weather in general instead of the last few days of cold front blowers that fly through the state to squall the US

here is the layout of the GFS models tending to Tuesday next week! woohoo

A nice CO chase!

Today was a great front chasing day! A few cells popped along this front giving its ingredients of ominous skies, CG's, pea hail, and lots of rain! It was great just to get out and enjoy a Colorado line of GVTH' cell to the next was allowing me to keep enjoying different things along the way.....the first cell i went after before it gullywashed was in Sterling than followed the line on down to Akron....than called it a day after I watched some close CG's....all of which i only got thunder on CG's were captured except one possible one might have popped up on the video....we all have this problem just ask chasers....there is that big one....battery dies, wasn't recording at the time, or just didn't hit the photo button at that particular! whatever.....good chase all in all!

Pray for Firefighters in CA

On going fire roaring through National Forest NE of Los Angeles.....pray for the firefighters and their safety as they battle this monster and future fires in the mix as the fire season is underway in that part of the country....
My hopes are for little short wave disturbances to get caught in the mix for CA as the Hurricane moisture makes its way northnortheasterward moving into AZ & NM.....

Cat 3 Jimena

Hopefully all is ready......still holding strong

"Storms That Have Been Chased" -------Episode 10: Aug 16th Greeley Struck Down

Here is the breakdown of pics from this incredible day!

This storm was an all out storm that took place over a few cells passing over Greeley. First with a cell creating a mini meso lasting only for moments till the shear outflow dominated and pushed the first cell off to the northeast.....other cells developed along the boundary extending all the way down into DIA. Staying close to home was the obvious way to catch some awestruck lightning. The next event of cells passing over were a lot more mellow and it was like watching War of the Worlds (new version) as the CG's struck continuously all around my apartment! I was not gonna go venture out like a hyenna.
I chased from my own was peaceful and illuminately exciting.....yes illuminately is a word now.....
