On today's episode we have an explosive beginning to get things rolling for July on "Storms That Have Already Been Chased"
It was July 1st when a nice warm day for Northern Colorado and things were plenty moist here in Evans, Colorado. I was enjoying a game of Shadow of the Colossus while it was setting up on the front range to be explosive. With very little shear but enough forcing mechanism to put up a show, it was bound to happen with an low level low out to the east. As far as severe weather was concerned this grew to be no concern since this would turn out to be something of an event that would only call for a severe thunderstorm watch....
I walked up the stairs to grab a drink when the curtains blew to show off....it was here! lol....the base of the cloud was moggles like on a ski slope with the threat of rain soon to fall....but the rising motion of the clouds and lifting mechanism would keep things unstable in the atmosphere....I opened the door slowly as to expect a massive EF5....naw just playin.....it was a classic GVTH....there was threat of pea hail, rain curtains, and some CG's....beautiful is all I could describe.....watching it swirl in the sky overhead without ever having to get in my chase vehicle is truly both front and backyard chasing literally.....This will be a day to remember.....
tune in next blog to find out what happens in JULY 3RD.......
